Fix your Deadlift Lockout - Weak Point Training . You're only as strong as your weakest link, so working on something specific can help with a lift. Thus one may go to block pulls to help with their lockout. Often we see those who have lockout issues still being able to block pull the same or more weight than they can from the floor. This is due to a lot of different things, leverages, using more back or just the range of motion. So what do we do? . 1)If your having lockout issues then most of the time it is going to be an issue with technique and your starting position. If you have a rounded back then you're going to have to uncoil yourself at the top which causes a very slow lockout if not impossoble lockout. . 2)How to fix this? Keep your low back tight, brace and breathe. You want to hinge, not uncoil, by flexing our quads and pushing our hips forward. As soon as we start hinging we are going to start locking out much easier. Starting with a flat tight back will make lockout a breeze. . 3)Block pulls are an awesome accessory to build up our strength for our lockout but it's not always the fix. Work on technique and hinging, then weak point training, such as block pulls as an assistance exercise. Tag a friend that needs help with their pulls!
