National Park 12/59 Complete ✔️

Through the Fifty-Nine Parks Print Series, Boneyard and his colleague Brian Buccaroni use screen-printing to spotlight the unique beauty of each of the — what is now — 60 national parks. “The concept for the poster series is something friends and I had talked about since 2014. In August of 2015, we began working on the series, [which] launched in January of 2016,” Boneyard says. “Our mission is the same today: to celebrate national parks and printmaking.” Read more at ModernConservationist.com (link in bio). In more ways than one, 2016 was a challenging year. I went on my first solo trip and turned 32 on top of a mountain. Both of which, were way out of my comfort zone. However, it’s in these times that we hold tight to truths, and grow as human beings. I’m not where I want to be, but I’m headed there as a better me. This piece hangs in my living room as a reminder of where this new journey started. Cheers to not having it all together all the time. . . Also, @_glennthomas absolutely killed the illustration for this @the59parks series. . . #mtrainier #nationalpark #washington #pacificnorthwest #mtrainiernationalpark #59parks #the59project #art #artprints #framesbynature #explore #exploretocreate #travel #human #artwork #framedart #personalspace #grow

First drive through the Smokies did not disappoint. 🍁🍂🍁🍂

"Introspection" I love a good mountain, and the Tetons are some of the best. One of my favorite parts of photography is when I go in to process a photo and I'm transported back to the moment I took it. It brings it full circle between the emotions I felt then and the emotions I feel looking at it again. It was a good day. . . . #landscapephotography #naturephotography #landscape #nature #grandtetonnationalpark #grandtetons #grandteton #fall #autumn #nationalpark #nationalparks #59parks #longexposurephotography #longexposure #goldenlight #goldenhour #reflection #reflections #clouds #mountains #mountain #wyoming #jackson #jacksonhole

At the summit of Hurricane Ridge. What? Your kids don’t hike in their pajamas 🤷🏼‍♀️?

It would be hard to pin down a single favorite spot in Olympic NP; it’s so vast and varied. But if I was hard-pressed, I think Hurricane Ridge could foot the bill. The day we made the drive up the mountain from Port Angeles, the sun was shining bright and the warmth was just starting to fill the air. Yet, I still packed every single item of winter clothing for all four of us in my pack, we were going to be walking on top of a mountain called HURRICANE RIDGE after all. But it turned out to be as still and peaceful a place one can imagine and I handed the pack off to Ryan — in case of a spontaneous blizzard. There are not enough superlatives in the world for Hurricane Ridge, there just simply are not. As we made our way to the summit, the peaks of the Olympic range loomed next to us — it was such a clear day that Mt. Olympus was visible. We felt, that even a mile from the parking lot, like we were deep in the backcountry. *bonus points if you can spot the kids and Mount Olympus in the first photo.*

Raise your hand if you’ve been to Hurricane Ridge 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♂️. The area gets its name from the 75 mile per hour gusts of wind that buffet the ridge. During the winter the mountains are covered in an average of 30-35 feet of snow, which persists long into summer, shaping life year-round. The trees are challenged under the weight of all that snow and because it lingers so long into the summer, the vast, sprawling, alpine meadows are maintained. The snow truly sculpts one of the most stunning landscapes in this gem on the Olympic Peninsula 🏔⛰🏔.

National park 2/59: Olympic. When we were headed to British Columbia we considered our proximity to Olympic NP and thought it could be a great opportunity to visit. The weather was in full cooperation with a string of sunny days, and given the Olympic Peninsula’s average yearly rainfall, we saw this as a golden opportunity. Though, visiting the rain forest while it is raining is supposed to be a pretty fantastic olfactory experience and the mind-boggling huge banana slugs are in full effect 🍌. Washington is really just the best; filled with waterfalls, rain forests, beaches and mountains, the natural beauty is a little ridiculous.

Another gorgeous forest, in another national park. This is Acadia last fall. It doesn’t matter the coast or geographic location, we always find ourselves hiking right up until sunset, soaking up every last second of goodness—and sometimes we even have to pull out our flashlights ☺️. We savor that golden light and our precious time together ❤️.

Epiphytes, which are plants that grow on other plants without harming the host (as opposed to parasites) are abundant in the rain forests on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. The misty coastal fog is not only responsible for feeding these plants but for lending the rain forest its ethereal quality. What you can’t see in this photo of me dwarfed by these ancient trees and with my back to camera—is my eyeballs raised in amazement and my mind being sufficiently blown.

I wish people were like money so I could hold them to the light to see which ones are real. 🙌🏽🔦💰 What’s up with some people getting judged for being as real as the streets and other getting loved for being fake? 🤷🏼‍♀️ • 📸: @andy.and.beyond • #glaciernationalpark #glaciernp #nationalparks #glaciernationalpark #nationalparksgeek #goparks #59parks #stayandwander #todolistguide #lovetheworld #mytinyatlas #sidewalkerdaily #in2nature #exploretocreate #bevisuallyinspired #hikemontana #montanamoment #visitmontana #exploremontana #montana #likeamountaingirl #goatworthy #rei #real #herwanderfullife #blackdiamond #backcountrypermit #backcountry #crackerlake #astrophotography

Olympic is the most varied national park we’ve visited yet. In the rain forest the trees are massive and the vegetation lush, and we spotted 3 Roosevelt Elk cows. While hiking to the top of Hurricane Ridge we took in the views of a snow-capped Mt. Olympus and bounded joyfully through the open meadows. And then the beach with its arches and sea stacks. We spent 3 days here and barely scratched the surface; but left in high spirits with plans of a return 😊.

The Kayak Hike and Hot Spring Tour. Cooler temperatures and hiking in the Black Canyon, simply incredible! Hiking down to the Natural Hot Springs, soaking for a while, then heading down to the Colorado River to be fitted in your Prijon kayaks for an 8 Mile Adventure. . . . . . #prijon #blackcanyon #59parks #riverlife #evolutionexpeditionskayaking #eeklv #love #photooftheday #lucky #naturephotgraphy #nature #emeraldcave #kayaksquad #outdoors #willowbeach #kayaktours #desert #findyourpark #findyourway #lakemeadnps #adventure #arizonahotsprings #arizona #nevada #kayaksquad #weather #paddle

"Begin Again" From my second trip to Grand Teton National Park last week. After a hike that ended up being roughly 5 times as long as I thought (and cost me the trust of my friends) it was nice to sit and watch the last light hit the Tetons over Lake Jackson on a beach not far from the road. #landscapephotography #naturephotography #landscape #nature #grandtetonnationalpark #nationalpark #nationalparks #59parks #sunsetphotography #sunsets #sunset #longexposurephotography #longexposure #goldenlight #goldenhour #dusk #reflection #reflections #clouds #mountains #mountain #wyoming #jackson #jacksonhole

Fun fact: At every national park you can complete a set of activities to become a Junior Ranger! It's generally for kids but they gladly let you have a workbook if you ask. It's a blast learning & completing tasks for that shiny badge. . . . Swipe to see how psyched we were to earn our first one & get sworn in 😁🏆

Nick always pokes fun at me bc when we are in huge, gorgeous environments half the time I am crouched down looking at plants. He took this photo to prove his point. . . I am in places with plants I've never seen before and it is so fascinating! I havent had much luck identifying any yet...in time perhaps. Gotta learn the names of my new, tough as nails friends!

Thick fog and cold rain slowed us down but we made the best of it and explored anyways...the clouds just add to the otherworldly quality of the Badlands. Thankful to have such a badass companion to battle the elements with 😊
