Incline DB Bench let’s me focus on building the pectoralis major / upper shelf of my chest. I do this more often than incline barbell so I can use less shoulders and identify any imbalances! I prefer this early in my workout and go a little heavier to focus on strength building. Kinetic mobility for upper body . Lots of good stuff happening here - . 🔹I am working on improving shoulder extension and internal/external rotation. . 🔹Shoulder retractors are getting lots of work with the lift offs . 🔹Rotator cuff strength and mobility . 🔹Improving strength and length through my chest and shoulders with the eccentrics . All important for climbers! 🧗🏻‍♂️ . Technique - Lower yourself for a count of 10 - 15 into the bottom of the push up. Make sure your avoid any rounding of the shoulders. They should move back. Back straight. Chest, hip, nose touch the ground at the same time. . From here, lift your hands off the floor by squeezing your shoulder blades together and elbows go towards the sky. Then externally rotate your shoulder as much as possible, reverse this and go into internal rotation all while keeping the shoulders back. Down to the bottom position, push up and repeat. . Use blocks for progression. Start on the ground. .
