Okay guys, so here’s a little slow mo tutorial on how to complete the ‘Romanian Deadlift’. 🤓 ⁉️This action is great for working the hamstrings, as well as the glutes. Also, it heavily relies on the abs and the erector spinae to keep the exercise in the correct position throughout.⁉️ • • • • I find that with the exercise people really struggle to get the correct angle with their hips, so I hope this helps 🤗 • • • 1. Start with your feet shoulder width apart, shoulders pulled back, core engaged and knees with a slight bend in them.💃🏼 2. Holding a dumbbell in each hand (weight of your choice) with your hands in a pronated grip.💁🏼‍♀️ 3. Once in a stable position slowly begin to hinge at the hips whilst lowering the weights towards the floor or as far as you can without discomfort. When completing this action it’s important to keep a slight bend in the knees, keep the shoulders pulled back throughout and leave your head in a neutral position.🤯 4. Once you have reached the maximum extension of your rep, keeping your core tight slowly begin to stand up. • • • • ‼️TOP TIPS‼️ ❗️- With this exercise I always try to feel like I’m sticking my bum out. ⚖️POST CONTEST TAPER⚖️ / 🔑This applies to anyone who has dieted for a long period of time and got shredded. If you really think that there is a post contest “anabolic window” you are wrong. / 1️⃣METABOLIC RATE ❌First off, your metabolic rate will be very low after dieting for 20-40 weeks. Yes thats how much time it takes for natural competitors to get in shape or shredded. ❌MEANING that if you throw a shit ton of food into your diet you will simply store it as fat, not muscle since your body NEEDS fat to function at this point. / 2️⃣LOW BODY-FAT & HORMONES ❌Secondly your body-fat percentage is going to be very low which means: ❌hormonal levels will be out of whack. ❌Your sex drive will be low ❌your hunger levels will be HIGH ❌cortisol & stress will be high ❌and you will be in a delicate state for lifting as you will have no leverage (fat & water around the joints) to overload effectively. / 🔑BUT there is a way to transition you into an ANABOLIC state more efficiently. In order to restore your metabolic rate, prevent excessive weight gain, and bring your hormonal levels back to normal you could try TAPERING your energy input & output. / 1️⃣ENERGY INTAKE (Calories) ✅After a long diet you can purposely put yourself in an initial slight surplus to gain an appropriate amount of weight to restore your hormonal levels. ✅From here you should work on consistently eating at maintenance to create a healthy relationship with food & consistency. Keep in mind you WILL be hungry no matter what but its important to execute and hit your numbers. ✅Maintenance is important as it teaches you to be content and patient with where you are. After consistently hitting maintenance calories & macros for a number of weeks you want to gradually decrease your energy OUTPUT. / 2️⃣OUTPUT (Cardio & Steps) ✅Keeping your cardio and steps in after a long diet is also great for keeping you in routine. The last thing you wanna do is eat a ton of food and decrease energy expenditure. ✅As food increases, cardio should decrease. / 💻BESHREDDED.CA

When I first started getting into lifting, I fell in love with it immediately. . I enjoyed the feeling after a successful session. It felt so good to see my body change over time and see myself grow stronger. It was a never ending obsession, where I strived everyday to do everything I could (except steroids, fuck that) to see progress. I wanted to squat 3 plates, deadlift 4 plates and bench 2 plates for multiple reps. . But alas after some time I found myself getting hurt. The injuries put me back so much that I kept losing my strength, then gaining it back just to be stuck at that same weight anyway. I was doing stuff wrong (for my level of experience) and that had me get so excited because I knew there was possibility to grow from this. . I started working with @mark_marron_ last year and with his help and our focus on technique and proper strength programming, I have been able to see huge increases in my strength. Just a few weeks ago 245X5 felt hard, this week I hit 255 for 5 easyyyyy! . When you discover what your goal is then build a plan for it, there’s almost no way you can fail. WOAH. Early 20s/knocking on 30. No nose job. No filler. Probably a 30 lb difference but more importantly a whole new outlook on life. The first picture was during a very stressful time in my life that consisted of nursing school and a very toxic relationship. The right is a few weeks back, now currently back in Nurse Practitioner school and working full time nights. The difference between the two is that I have found a way to handle stress. I use the gym as an outlet and have found a healthy balance between diet and exercise. As I approach 30, I am motivated to be in the best shape of my life. We all start somewhere, get started today. Been one of those weeks where I’ve been a bit unmotivated to workout, but you have to remember why you started and what’s going to keep you going! Some back training yesterday. Went good. 🙏 Did pull ups, barbell shrugs, and shrugs with the 45. Trying to get my back swole again! 😁 Did a set of 5, 2 sets of 12 and a set of 5 pauses for pull ups. Then did 3 sets of 10 135, set of of 10 185, set of 16 225, set of 20 225, set of 6 275, set of 25 185, set of 30 135, and a set of 20 135. Then did 3 sets of 25 with the 45 pound plate with 30 second of rest between set. Working hard! 💪
