Appointments will be taken in the far future 😉 (if that’s what she decides to do in life)

It’s been a slow morning over here but I did do a few things for Day 4 of the #sneakystrengthyoga challenge. I just completed an Instagram purge... of my own account. Yup, I went through and deleted any photo or video of me wearing a sports bra. Why? Because that’s not what I’m about anymore. For so long I was promoting unhealthy and unrealistic expectations and I didn’t even know it. My goal was to help people, but I didn’t realize it was doing more harm than good. Seeing the likes and comments and #goals fed into that, but now I know better. Health does not = six pack. Vanity does not = strength. We are more than a number on a scale or size of our pants. Let’s bring health and fitness back to what it is meant to be 🙌🏼 Thank you to @chalenejohnson for this wake up call 💙

The “treat yoself” mentality takes over and within a couple mimosas, pancakes and pizza slices all your hard work during the week of sticking to your diet and wearing in the gym have completely vanished. . 👏🏼YES! Balance is super important and enjoyingnyour life, including the food u eat, is crucial for long term success. . ⚠️BUT! 1 or 2 days of going completely off track doesn’t count as balance when you’re doing it every weekend. . 🔎So instead of giving yourself a whole weekend of “cheating” and “treats”, give yourself 1 meal. Or 1 dessert. . 💯And always remember what you REALLY want- a waffle OR to feel amazing in your clothes?! . 💪🏽Choose the things that support what you REALLY want! And have fun while doing it! Counting macros seems so confusing right? Well lemme tell ya... it’s not as bad as it seems! The longer you track, the easier it gets! • What does it mean to count macros? You track MACRONUTRIENTS (proteins, carbs, and fats) instead of tracking food groups (meats, dairy, grains, fruits, veggies, etc). • My go to tips for counting macros are.... 1️⃣ eat balanced meals meaning include a fat, carbohydrate, and protein source each time you eat! • 2️⃣ use an app to help you track! • 3️⃣ count your macros and weigh your food BEFORE you eat! • 4️⃣ hit your macros within 2-5 grams every single day; consistency is key when counting macros in order to see the best results! • What do you find most confusing about tracking macros? HOW TO WORK WITH EGO AND TRIGGERS? PART2 Yesterday, I was writing about Ego and how to work with it, today the spotlight is on Triggers. How to work with triggers? The trigger is this uncomfortable feeling that arises in a particular situation. This feeling I would describe as being insulted in the gut area. The trigger is showing us that we either have the same thing that has triggered us inside of us, but we don't want to admit, or we don't have it, but we want it. The trigger is also showing us where we have unresolved issues, wounds from the past, where we are not free, or on which parts of ourself we have to work on. How to work with it: Ex. You see the woman that embraces her s€xuality, and you feel triggered. . -First, recognize that you are triggered. (You will know it by the feeling that arises inside, it is usually a negative feeling) . -Do the "digging work" and understand what is your case from above mentioned (for ex. you don't feel your s€xuality but you want to feel it) . -Accept the situation, and that you need to work on it (Acceptance is the key) . -Do the proper steps in overcoming the issue (in this example, work on embracing your s€xuality) . Both Ego battles and Triggers are blocks which are trying to stop us from fully embracing our unique soul gifts. We must move past these blocks that are holding us back from sharing our light and fulfilling our soul purposes in life! Work with them, overcome them and don't be afraid to SHINE LIKE A STAR! Like if you relate ❤️ This can feel like such a rebellious act on social media. . Don’t know about you but I often feel like it’s easy to fall into the trap of “having to follow” all of the people. Or like, somehow accidentally filling our feed with stuff that makes us feel like CRAP.💩 . All the people doing cool things and the amazing celebrities or whatever, or even just that super glamorous girl 👧 from Uni or that travel blogger you discovered a while back . ...but who never seems to do any work and who never has a bad skin day.😳🤦‍♀️ . If we’re not careful, using social media can feel like a total mindfuck and self-comparison OBSTACLE COURSE every time we open it.😫 . We scroll and scroll, feeling worse and worse about our apparently-boring lives in comparison, and it can totally mess with our heads.🤦‍♀️ . Talk about negative thought spirals 😫 . Meditation is a wonderful thing but sometimes we need to sort out the source of our negative spirals too. . ❤️SO, what if your IG could be a place of community and connection? And encouragement and self-love and creativity, instead?❤️ . 🔥🎧This week I’ve been chatting to the glorious @effthismeditation and @jamievaron for Season 2 of my podcast (eeeeeeeeexciting!) and they are both REALLY EFFING GOOD at using social media happily.🎧❤️ . Responsibly. At using it for good, to boost you up, to build community, rather than tear you down.👍 . I’ve been actively trying to use IG to spread love and encouragement, whether on my own feed, or by interacting kindly and encouragingly with others. . My god, it feels so much more positive than just scrolling mindlessly . How can you be more intentional with IG? Do you need to do a bit of an unfollow spree?! . It used to trigger me really badly as come on how can I possibly feel like I “have” it already if my reality is far, way too far from my desired life.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ What has changed for me?🤔⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Realizing that it’s truly not about the outcome but about me feeling the way I wanna feel on daily basis from now on not waiting for things to happen first🙏⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Do you wanna be healthy? What does actually being healthy mean to you? What would have to change for you to feel that way today? When you imagine yourself being healthy and fit what feelings come up for you?⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Do you feel energized, joyful, excited..? 🙊 Jump OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE⠀ (+ overcoming burnout 🔥, pt. 3)⠀ ⠀ Do you remember when you were a kid, right, and everyone wanted to go on the rollercoaster but you? 🎢⠀ ⠀ You were the designated “Cellphone Guy,” holding the phones and wallets for those brave enough to venture to the waaaaaay top of a rollercoaster, then upside down on it, then down, down, down 🙈⠀ ⠀ I know that I was that guy.⠀ Man, I was scared! 😰⠀ ⠀ Then one time when my sister, best friends, and I went to Six Flags for a class trip, I said, in not so many words because I was about sixteen, “Fuck it.”⠀ ⠀ I went on El Toro 😱⠀ ⠀ For those of you who aren’t New England Babes, El Toro is one of the highest rollercoasters in the entire park. It’s all wood. It doesn’t go upside down but, man, is it FAST.⠀ ⠀ & know what happened?⠀ ⠀ 👉🏼 I went on, got off, & IMMEDIATELY GOT BACK IN LINE because I loved it so much.⠀ ⠀ You couldn’t slap that smile off my face if you fucking tried. I think I could have just posted food. What I eat everyday. Pretty things and healthy things and all the food so bright and brandable. I could have done that. And people would have understood the content right away. I would have gotten better at food photography and recipe development and editing and stuck to one aesthetic and it would have been more practical. ⠀⠀ I could have shared all my science-backed nutrition knowledge and communicated effective ways to become healthier and looked cute in leggings and it would have been all well and good. It would have been cleaner. Maybe clearer. Less complicated at least. ⠀⠀ But it’s always been about more than food for me. Maybe I started with food because I didn’t know where else to start. Maybe that’s why I post pictures of my naked face with captions that have nothing to do with my face. Maybe it’s the English major in me or the writer who never became a writer or a part of the deepest layer of my inner self that somehow escaped and now just wants to be heard and seen. Not in an annoying attention seeking way. No. In an ive-seen-a-million-scattered-pieces-of-your-soul-because-you-forced-me-to-(lol)-and-it-was-a-lot-but-I-get-you kinda way. In an ive-seen-your-flaws-and-loved-you-more kinda way. ⠀⠀ So maybe now you can kinda get why I can’t post a food photo and only talk about fiber content; though, yeah, that’s important and I think about it sometimes when I eat. Because, really, I just wanna hand you the million scattered pieces of everything that I am and have you say that you get it. I think that’s what this account is. Why “toning” isn’t real⁣😬 ⁣ When it comes to fitness women are treated as if we have to do something different than men to see results. ⁣ ⁣ Words like “toned” are used and we think we have to like dance in a sunflower field and spend 1 hour a day on the stair master.⁣ ⁣ I’m going to let you in on a little secret.. toning really means: build muscle and lose fat 🤭⁣ ⁣ You can’t get “toned” with out lifting weights. You can do all the body weight and cardio work outs you want but it’s not going to get you where you want to be. ⁣ ⁣ Are body weight work outs wrong? No! Sister, what do you choose? This is one of my favorite affirmations from Inner Radiance. Each affirmation comes from a personal experience of mine & this affirmation is about making choices. It took me a long time to realize that I am in the drivers seat of my life. That I can choose to find love in every situation or not. That I can choose to step through my fears or not. That I can choose a life filled with positive people who lift me up or not. That I can choose to put myself first & do what it takes to make my dreams come true or not. There was a quote I heard in elementary school every morning over the loud speaker. The principle or whoever was speaking would say “The choice is yours.” That quote stuck with me throughout my life & is something I always come back to. The choice really is ours. We have so many choices to make in life & we may not always make the best decision but I truly believe there is a lesson in whatever we choose & we choose it because we need to learn the lesson. Each day you wake is an opportunity for you to begin again. A fresh day is ahead of you & you have the power to make many choices throughout the day. Do you choose to start your day in love or continue to be angry at the world? If you are arguing with a close friend do you give up your ego & surrender or do you keep fighting back? Do you get angry & not tip the waitress who is giving bad service or do you realize she may be having a bad day & still tip her 20%? Do you pick up the trash you walked by on the sidewalk or do you keep walking past it? It truly is the little things. To me, being human is making mistakes, learning from them, forgiving the ones who hurt you, moving forward in your life, going after your dreams & always putting yourself first. This human experience is magical if we allow it to be & not get so caught up in what the rest of the world is doing. All that matters are the choices we make. As long as we make good choices that feel good to us & make the world a better place, I believe we are doing exactly what we came here to do. 6 days left to reach our goal for the Inner Radiance Deck! Moving from San Francisco to San Diego was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. ⠀ ⠀ I often get asked how I made the decision, and the honest truth is I have no idea why I chose San Diego other than I had a gut feeling. I trusted that my intuition was going to be right. I had never been here before, but I had a lot of faith that something amazing was waiting for me. ⠀ ⠀ So I packed up all my things (then got all my things stolen, but that’s a whole different story 😂) and moved to North Park. Over the course of 5 months I’ve had days where I have doubted myself immensely and wasn’t sure about this place....⠀ ⠀ But looking back on my camera roll from the last few months, I’ve never been happier in my god damn life. I’ve met the most incredible humans who get me on a soul level, I’ve explored beautiful places I never thought I would see, and I’ve grown beyond measure. ⠀ ⠀ I’ve created a new place to call home,⠀ and damn is that a good feeling. For those of you who have been along for the ride, you know how happy I am to have a solid place to call my own! 🏡 ⠀ ⠀ Just a little nudge to those of you out there wondering whether you should take a big leap or not... do it! It’s always worth it to stretch yourself beyond your comfort zone. You can never be wrong. The universe will expand for you in so many ways when you listen to the call of your soul.

Não é isto, mas também. Amor-próprio é remover a maquilhagem antes de deitar porque sabemos que a nossa pele um dia vai agradecer; é dormir menos uma hora para ter tempo de ir treinar antes do trabalho - ainda de noite - sem um objetivo definido, mas pelo nosso bem-estar; é fazer uma hora de transportes públicos caóticos todos os dias para ir trabalhar; é saber aceitar quando falhamos e que isso não nos diminui enquanto pessoas. É não sentir que vamos ficar sozinhos, que com a nossa idade os nossos pais já tinham uma casa própria enquanto nós continuamos na deles e não sentir a pressão de ter filhos ou um "bom" emprego chegar. É tudo isto, e o anterior, também. O Amor-próprio, esse, é um dissimulado e testa-nos sempre que sentimos que temos tudo razoavelmente sob controle. Quantas vezes, a meio de um dia de trabalho, damos por nós a pensar "Mas porque me esforço tanto?". Quantas vezes trocamos de emprego ou perdemos aqueles 5kgs e damos por nós a pensar "Valeu o esforço? Continuo a sentir um vazio que julgava que fosse passar". Esse tal de Amor-próprio é um dissimulado mas ensina-nos uma importante lição: podemos ter todo o dinheiro do mundo, fazer as viagens que sonhamos, ter na garagem um carro topo de gama ou ao nosso lado pessoas incríveis que gostam de nós, mas enquanto não nos sentirmos bem connosco, não vamos estar bem. No mundo. Com o mundo. Na nossa pele.
