A bite from the Russell's pit viper, a snake that kills thousands of people every year in Southeast Asia and is shown here, is particularly awful. The drop is swirled around. This mixes the venom in, but it does also expose the blood to oxygen, which means that what we see next isn't necessarily exactly how this would happen inside a bite victim. • • ✅Follow @physicsworld_official ✅Leave a comment ✅Tag a friend • • #neutronstar #astrophotography #astronomy #space #milkyway #nasa #galaxy #stars #universe #nightsky #cosmos #stargazing #science #nebula #universetoday #hubble #moon #astronomia #planets #nightscaper #solarsystem #astrophoto #telescope #astrophysics #natgeospace #star #astronaut #blackhole #constellation #interstellar

Throwback to one of the best sights iv ever seen! This was by far my most exciting and favourite astrophotography moment. I still appreciate that I got lucky enough to watch the whole eclipse. This pic was possible since the moon was a dark blood red colour so it allowed me to take an exposure of a few seconds so the stars in the background could pop out, leaving this unreal 3D effect. Plus YouTube channel is coming along nice, just need to wait for a clear night. Link in bio. Our universe is made up of only 5% “normal” matter. The rest is dark matter and energy. However, in this post, I will discuss dark matter. Dark matter is the most common form of matter in the universe, yet it is also non-luminous, therefore it is invisible. Astronomers knew that dark matter exists, due to the fact that even in regions of galaxies where there are fewer stars and less mass, gravity remained constant. This therefore made it so astronomers knew that there had to be invisible matter creating equilibrium throughout the galaxy. Dark matter is a completely different form of matter, as it doesn’t share similar atoms, instead, they are theorized to be made of axions, subatomic particles that share similar properties to this theoretical perception of dark matter. In the highly energetic stage of the early universe, structures should not have had the ability to form. However, with dark matter at play, the physics allows for these structures to be able to form. Not to be confused with dark energy, which I will be discussing next post, a repulsive force that repels gravity and causes the universe to continuously expand.

Always hope but never expect 💯

The supernova remnant contains the Crab Pulsar, a rapidly rotating neutron star that spins at a rate of 30.2 times per second! The pulsar, also catalogued as PSR 0531+21, is the youngest one observed. The orange filaments are the tattered remains of the star and consist mostly of hydrogen. The rapidly spinning neutron star embedded in the center of the nebula is the dynamo powering the nebula’s eerie interior bluish glow. The blue light comes from electrons whirling at nearly the speed of light around magnetic field lines from the neutron star! 👀 📸Image Credit: NASA/ESA, J. Hester and A. ~ Madalyn's red tractor watching the Milky Way rise. ~ . . . This is a 9-shot panoramic, 3x3, taken this morning in the infinitesimal window between moonset and the end of astronomical dark. ... There's a weird shadow in the sky, almost like an immense figure bestriding the galaxy. Now — some people might think that's just a digital artifact of stitching the pano imperfectly. I, however, believe it is clear evidence of higher-dimensional beings roaming the infinite reaches of the universe. 😜😁 . . 📷 Sony a6000 with IR+Visible spectrum mod ~ Sigma DC DN 16mm lens ~ H-alpha + visible filter from Kolari ~ f/1.4 ~ ISO 800 ~ 20 seconds . 3 x 3 panoramic stitched in Lightroom #roxburyny #eastbranchfarms #catskillmountains #greatnortherncatskills #milkyway #milkywaypics #starphotography #longexposure_photos #longexposure_shots #astrophotography #nightphotography #night_excl #night_shots_ #astrophoto #milkywaychasers #newmilkyway #ig_milkyway #bestnightpix #nightscaper #night_shooterz #universetoday #artofgalaxies #nights_dreamworld #sonyalpha #sonya6000 @eastbranchfarms @madalynsinstagram

This week in 1968, the Mississippi Test Facility, today’s NASA Stennis Space Center, successfully completed the first full-duration static test firing of 1968. Engineers and technicians static-fired the fourth flight version of the Saturn V second stage, S-II-4, for six minutes. The S-II-4 was used on the Apollo 9 Saturn V launch vehicle. Developed by the Space Division of North American Aviation under the direction of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, the S-II stage employed five J-2 engines, each capable of producing 225,000 pounds of thrust. Here, an S-II stage is hoisted into the A2 test stand. Now through December 2022, NASA will mark the 50th anniversary of the Apollo Program that landed a dozen astronauts on the Moon between July 1969 and December 1972, and the first U.S. crewed mission, Apollo 8, that circumnavigated the Moon in December 1968.👨‍🚀 • Did you know that Apollo 8 was one of the most dangerous mission NASA did? Yep, in 1968, United-States was in a Cold War with the Soviet Union (known today as Russia) and since the Soviet Union successfully launch the first man in space, Yuri Gagarin, the United-States wanted to go to the moon first. The United-States had to rush the construction of the Saturn V rocket and the training of the astronauts to go at the moon before the Soviet Union. Apollo 8 was a very dangerous mission and was not well prepared. The astronauts were very lucky to be back on Earth alive but because of this, the United-States successfully landed the first astronauts on the moon with Apollo 11, 7 months later.🌔 • ————————————————— Follow @astro_samg for more!🚀 ————————————————— • • #spacex #space #exoplanet #nasa #astronomy #galaxies #cosmos #spacecraft #spacestation #universetoday #telescope #astrobiology #astro_photography #solarsystem #astronomylover #astrophysics #astrophotography #spacefacts #astronomyfacts #milkywaygalaxy #spaceexplorer #blackholes #outerspace #theuniverse #interstellar #astro_photography_ #astronomynerd #nasa🚀 #cosmology #spaceexploration
