WICKED ————————————————————— There’s something magical about this tree and I’ve always wanted to photograph it. Rumor has is it that after you photograph this tree you attain magical powers. My new magical power is the ability to eat a whole bag of flaming hot cheetos in one sitting. With wildfires raging across California over the past few weeks conditions for night photography have been horrible. On this particular night though I was able to get above the haze at 11,000 feet. The smoke and high clouds perfectly framed the core of the Milky Way Galaxy and created an eery mood. It’s like time stood still and the galaxy was staring at me... ================================= #benrousa #canon📷 #ig_color #yourshotphotographer #longexpolite #ig_shotz_le #shotzdelight #visitcalifornia #canonphotos #adventurebeckons #neverstopexploring #watchthisinstagood #visualambassadors #shotzdelight #usinterior #eclectic_shotz #moodygrams #agameoftones #aov #hubs_united #theimaged #fatalframes #depthobessed #wonderful_places #amazing_longexpo #super_photolongexpo #nightphotography #newmilkyway #milkywaychasers #fstopgear

Take me to the Hop!: Bobby Sock Trees on Tangle Creek, Yellowstone National Park. *********************************************Dead Lodgepole pines near Firehole Lake Drive are strutting their bobby socks, just like the girls at the hop in the 1950’s. These white “socks” occur when the trees soak up the mineral-laden waters of a hydrothermal area. As the water evaporates, the minerals left behind turn the tree white, more concentrated at the base where the water is first absorbed, hence the sock like appearance. This part of Yellowstone is really dynamic with one of our favorite hydrothermal features—Great Fountain Geyser. If you are any where close when this beauty is scheduled to go off—stay, it is worth the wait! If you love Yellowstone—(and you should!), PLEASE take and keep the #yellowstonepledge! (For more info on the Yellowstone pledge: https://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/yellowstonepledge.htm ********************************************* #frozenzen #frozenzenphotography #nationalpark #nationalparkservice #yellowstone #yellowstonenationalpark #yellowstonenps #theoutbound #outsidephotographymagazine #findyourpark #geyser #landscapephotography #earth_deluxe #visitwyoming #sonyalpha #lovetheoutdoors #stayandwander #visualsoflife #roamtheplanet #usinterior #59parks #wildernesssociety #yellowstoneforever #discoverwyoming #nationalparkgeek #nationalparkobsessed #nationalparklife #bobbysocktrees #visitusaparks

Someone wise once told me, “There is a time and a season for everything.” I try to remind myself of this mantra when I get overwhelmed by my ever-expanding list of dreams, goals, and to-dos. There is simply not enough hours in the day, in a week, or in a month to get all that I want to accomplish done. Does anyone else feel this way? It’s easy to let the anxiety and exhaustion set in when you start to feel overwhelmed with life. One thing I am constantly working on is trying not to take on too much all at once. I tend to say “yes” too often. Why? Because I’m the kind of person that doesn’t want to let someone down. And because what drives me to the core is the feeling of accomplishment after meeting a challenge or goal. Learning to say “no” is hard for me, just as prioritizing my goals can be too. I want to do it ALL right NOW! I recognize that this is a character flaw or weakness and if I don’t continually keep myself in check, I will burn out, lose patience or even worse, give up all together. . Patience is a virtue. I know that if I want to achieve my dreams, I need to focus more intently on setting smaller goals and working on one thing at a time, making sure that I prioritize what is most important first (family!) and letting everything else wait. Remembering that there is a season and time for everything has to be something that I LIVE everyday. Slowing down, taking it a day at a time, and remembering that I can’t do it all (and that’s ok!) is how I will eventually reach my goals. And of course, enjoying the journey is the most important part! ❤️ . Feel free to add any advice or insight below or if you know any good podcasts or books that talk about this topic. I would be so grateful! 🙏🏼😘 @wandrd . . . . . . . . . #pnwonderland #pnwlife #pnwhiking #pnwphotographer #mtrainier #mountrainier #mtrainiernationalpark #mountrainiernationalpark #seekadventure #liveyouradventure #natureaddict #roamfree #simplyadventure #beautifuldestinations #findmeoutside #getoutdoors #adventureseeker #freshairandfreedom #natureisbeautiful #amongthewild #findyourpark #goparks #nationalparks #nationalparkgeek #usinterior #nps100 #americasbestidea #protectpubliclands

Washington blows my mind every single day. I could spend every summer exploring around and still not get bored. Excited to see the rest of the west but I’m going to miss this place..

From a ridiculously smokey sunset last week in Mt. Rainier National Park. Having spent my entire life living in the PNW I honestly can't remember days like this. When the sun is so dim you can almost stare directly at it, and the light glows a strange orange. Where hillsides and mountains disappear into the thick smoke that fills the sky. And the inescapable smell of campfire that fill your lungs every time you step outside. I can't help but think of what the future holds. Is this the new norm? What can we do to help prevent this?

hard not to think about Glacier evenings on a Monday morning full of meetings. my first time there was nothing less than amazing: incredible views and the kindest people. thinking i may need to get back up there soon before the sun road sets on this season. (📸: @chance_jackson)

After three years of entering the monthly lottery for a permit, I was finally drawn and got to visit The Wave. It was brutally hot during the 7 mile hike in and back since you are completely exposed but it was absolutely worth the wait and effort. Pictures cannot encapsulate how incredible this whole area is. One of the coolest places I have ever visited.

Day 8 | Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota 🌳 Yesterday, we celebrated our seven year anniversary by visiting Theodore Roosevelt National Park in western North Dakota. Roosevelt first came to the North Dakota badlands in 1883 on a short trip and invested in the existing Maltese Cross Ranch. The following year he returned, seeking solitude to mourn the loss of both his wife and mother. He started the Elkhorn Ranch and pursued “the strenuous life.” His time here in North Dakota was influential in his ascent to the Presidency and his conservationist policies in office. 🌳 We’ll be camping in this area for the next few days and sharing some of our favorite shots from the park. • • • #theodorerooseveltnationalpark #nationalpark #northdakota #badlands #nps #usinterior #rvlife #rvlifeclub #gorving #rvers #rvleaguers #rvcouple #fulltimerv #winnebago #winnebagolife #roadtrip #greatamericanroadtrip #roadtripromance #crosscountryroadtrip #traveldiary
