Tonight in LA, the luminous collective known as @gungormusic will shine its last light & finish the book on what has been an incredible story. it has been one of the greatest honors of my life & career to be able to walk alongside, support, illuminate, collaborate with & project onto (literally) @lisagungor & @michaelgungor. not only have they been some of the best artists i’ve ever worked with, but they’ve become lifelong dear friends who have been such a gift to me, my faith, my doubt, & the slow death of my certainties. i’m so excited about their future, and tonight, we’ll see the “old wineskin” known as “GUNGOR” laid to rest. i’m so thankful that i got to be there at the beginning of this crazy ride (which involved an epic Safari in Africa), to journey with them through all kinds of twists & turns, & now finally, here at the end of all things. the last two weeks have been incredible ride, & i’m sad to see it end. but if we know anything from their journey, it’s that “this is not the end!” thank you Vishnu Dass, Isa Prem Star Queen, @thebrilliancemusic & @prophiphop for inviting onto this incredible tour. and here’s to trance dancing to “Om Shivaya” many more times! 📷: @canceledplansmusic

Ready to hit the road with @gungormusic @thebrilliancemusic & @prophiphop for the West Coast leg of the End of the World tour! i love getting to do my thing with projectors & visuals for these crazy people. being on the GUNGOR train this past decade has been such a great privilege filled with more laughing than i can remember. Plus the music is pretty good, too. 😏 I’m so glad i can be here at the end as Michael & Lisa say farewell to this beautiful chapter of their career. Joining Gungor for their last tour will be @thebrilliancemusic & @prophiphop, making each evening a satisfying feast for the ears. if you’re in any of these cities over the next few days, please come & join us! i promise you won’t regret it, unless you’re a tight-fisted, christian fundamentalist, then you’d probably hate it & wish you had protested the concert in advance. 🙊🙈🐒 but this is a west coast tour so it’ll probably just be a bunch of backslidden tree-huggin’ liberal hippies. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Seattle | Apr25 (sold out) Portlandia!!! | Apr 27 Chico NoCal | Apr 29 Petaluma | Apr 30 SFO | May 1 San Luis Obispo | May 2 Ventura | May 3 Ramona | May 4 L.A.st GUNGOR show EVER | May 6

In celebration for #earthday, I collaborated with one of my favorite bands on this beautiful planet - @thebrilliancemusic - to (re)create a visual meditation on creation care based on their song “Earth”. This is also our imaginative attempt to bring some awareness to the looming effects of Climate Change & its impact on the global poor; we’ve partnered with our friends @tearfund_usa, who are providing action for this injustice. visit TearfundUSA.org/climate to learn more. Here’s Part One of the music video (you can see the full version on YouTube, simply search for The Brilliance & Earth).
BLOOM | a new collaboration w/ composer @ptonypterodactyl : full video @ YouTube.com/TonyAndersonMusic featuring a beautiful new whimsical song that will usher your dark souls into Spring & aerial visuals shot on the slopes of a volcano in Hawai’i that will illuminate your tired eyes weary from social media. (raw visuals available @ shop.illuminate.us, for you visual artists out there looking to license footage like this)
Notice the glory.

It was so fun having my oldest nephew @jonathan.caubble & my soon-to-be niece-in-law @caitlynmans hang with me in Portlandia this past week. As you can tell from all the photos, we did all the things. and it was a blast! Jonathan has always been more like a little brother than a nephew to me. And it’s been so cool to watch him grow up & begin to figure out life on his own. He has such a fun, childlike sense of wonder, & i can already tell he doesn’t want to settle for a status quo level of life that keeps him grounded in one place for too long. I’d say he got that from me, but to be honest he has incredible parents who raised them well & who moved him & his little brother @jaredcaubble overseas not once but twice, giving them a good sense of living in another culture early on in life. This is a big year for Jonathan, as he’s graduating college, finding a real full-time job, & marrying one of the coolest girls on the planet, Caitlyn. So i wanted to fly them both out for an epic week of adventure before life gets super crazy. To say I am proud of him is a severe understatement. #mybooooyyyy 🙏🏼
THE WAY OF GRACE | “Grace doesn't try to please itself. Accepts being slighted, forgotten, disliked. Accepts insults & injuries. Help each other. Love everyone. Every leaf. Every ray of light. Forgive.” ~ “The Tree of Life” by Terrance Malick
THE WAY OF NATURE | “Nature only wants to please itself. Get others to please it too. Likes to lord it over them. To have its own way. It finds reasons to be unhappy when all the world is shining around it. And love is smiling through all things.” ~ “The Tree of Life” by Terrance Malick
TREES OF LIFE | “The nuns taught us there are two ways through life: the way of Nature & the way of Grace. You have to choose which one you'll follow.” ~ “The Tree of Life” by Terrance Malick
“Psalm 74” | Creation meets New Creation | Nihonga meets Projection This is the final collaboration from my week in @iamfujimura’s studio for the Culture Care Summit. Mako is embarking on a very long & slow journey of meditating on & illuminating the Psalms through his Nihonga paintings. One of his recent visual meditations was on Psalm 74, a beautiful, monochromatic & minimal image of two realties existing together but marked by a horizon. I took some of my drone footage of waterfalls, ocean waves & even the Sea of Galilee & projected it onto his painting. The Sea of Galilee was particularly meaningful as i had stood on the shore with Mako last year. Mako ended up using this as a meditation in one of our morning sessions, where he read Psalm 74. the experience was underscored by @ptonypterodactyl’s music, & as fate would have it, Tony showed up at Mako’s studio later in the day & played some music in the studio & met small for the first time ever. it was a very fun moment for us all! Swipe to see more photos & videos from this collaboration.
